Digital inclusion of older migrants and low-literate people: What works?

Wednesday 29 May 2024, 2 pm - 4:30 pm

We live in a digital age where much is expected of us in terms of possessing digital skills. We know that this does not come naturally to everyone. This also applies mostly to older migrants and low-literate elderly people, who are therefore at risk of being excluded from care and services.

In this seminar, in collaboration with Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing and Pharos, National Expertise Centre on Health Disparities, we will:

  • Share insights on the specific challenges older migrants face in learning digital skills.
  • Discuss success stories of digital skills training programmes specifically designed for older migrants.
  • Present practical strategies and resources to design and implement effective training programmes.

The meeting (in Dutch) is aimed at professionals and policymakers and other interested parties involved in the welfare, care and integration of older migrants and low-literate people.
