Four times a year, the Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies organises a Faculty Lecture. Events that transcend the disciplines within the institute. The lectures are open to both students and staff and are free to attend.
About this edition
Drawing on thinkers from Western, Indigenous, and Zen Buddhist traditions of thinking Gerard Kuperus will discuss the possibilities of rethinking who we are through embracing our vulnerability.
Marc Davidson will discuss how insights from evolutionary psychology can influence environmental philosophy: does the ecological crisis originate in rather 'natural' tendencies? Do cognitive limitations prevent humanity from establishing the global governance required to tackle the ecological crises? And what does that mean for political theory?
