Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the research landscape across disciplines. The IMR Academy offers two workshops on the use of AI in research, which provide practical insights, hands-on experience, and space for critical reflection on how AI can meaningfully support — and responsibly shape — our research practice.
You are welcome to register for individual workshops or for the full event series.
2. From Prompting to Method: Using LLMs in Qualitative Research
This one-hour online workshop introduces a methodological approach to using large language models (LLMs) in qualitative research, with a focus on prompt design and evaluation. Rather than showcasing tools, the session demonstrates how researchers can systematically guide and refine model outputs using a structured prompting framework. The workshop is intended for researchers working with qualitative methods and combines conceptual insights with practical examples. It is among other sources based on recent work by Michal Mochtak and emphasizes transparency, control, and reproducibility through the use of local or open-source models.
