Improving the Dutch power grid with AI

Thursday 30 March 2023, 7 pm - 9 pm
Data scientist Roel Bouman and his team try to make the Dutch power grid smarter and more efficient. In his alumni lecture in March, he will tell us all about the role of artificial intelligence in this research.

Machine learning - a form of artificial intelligence - has established itself as an invaluable tool in automatisation in a plethora of fields in the past few years. Alliander and the Data Science research group of the Radboud University have recently collaborated on multiple successful projects where machine learning was applied to their use-cases.

We will discuss 2 subjects:

  1. Using machine learning for better load estimations, allowing for better use of the existing grid infrastructure
  2. Using smart measurements and neural networks for predictive maintenance on power cables

Join us on 30 March on campus or online to discover how machine learning can help in the maintenance and expansion of the Dutch power grid!
