Introduction to Research Data Organisation

How to keep track of your data during and after your research? This question is central to this workshop. In 90 minutes the DCC introduces you to the good practices of research data organisation. The workshop discusses what you can do at both the level of your project, your data collection and individual datasets in order to make and keep your research data structured, informative and accessible.

The workshop discusses good practices while leaving space for personal preferences or discipline-specific traditions, providing you with an overview of the various ways in which you can manage your research data in a way that suits your needs. This includes generic strategies such as metadata, READMEs, file names and folder structures and version control and file formats, but also specific documentation practices for both quantitative and qualitative research.
