On 1 October, public administration expert Mark Bovens will be the guest of research group The Eighties. Bovens, professor at Utrecht University (and until recently a member of the WRR), will talk about the huge increases in the number of parliamentary questions that started in the 1980s. He examines what explanations are conceivable for this. Is there an urge for profiling among MPs? Are there more reasons for parliamentary questions? What does this rise say about the position of parliament at this time in relation to successive cabinets?
The meeting will take place on 1 October from 15.00 to 16.00 in the Erasmus Building, in room E 9.14a. Please register in advance due to a limited number of seats. You can register using the form at the bottom of this page.
