Carlijn de Smet and Marloes Israels are alumni of the Master's programmes in Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management. They work at Capgemini Invent, where they help organisations shape their future by bringing together strategy, technology and innovation.

During this session, these consultants will share insights into their career journeys, discuss what it is like to work in consultancy, and present real-life examples of transformation and innovation projects. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and engage in discussion.

After completing his Master's in Organisation Design & Change Management, alumnus Stijn Hendriks joined Enexis as a management trainee. Enexis is a Dutch network operator responsible for delivering gas and electricity to more than 2.8 million households.

Having worked across various parts of the organisation, Stijn has gained broad experience and progressed rapidly within the company. During this session, he will share his career journey and discuss the challenges he faces in his current role as Manager of Network and Capacity Management. How do you prevent the electricity grid from becoming overloaded? And how do you respond when capacity limits are reached? There will be ample opportunity for questions and interaction.

Koen Durlinger, alumnus of Business Administration and author of the book Surviving the Corporate Jungle (Overleven op de Apenrots), will share insights from his professional journey and experiences. 

Is there life after uni? Yes, there is: working life. But what does that actually look like?

That’s definitely a question Koen Durlinger asked himself during his studies. As it turns out, working life is somewhat similar to uni life. Yet at the same time, it’s vastly different in many ways. And sometimes, you wish someone had told you about the practical challenges and everyday struggles you’re about to run into.

Fear not, because he has been where you are. Along the way, he has taken note of all the practical aspects of working life that uni forgets to tell you about. And he would love to share his tips and tricks to help make your transition from student life to working life as smooth as possible.

In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to build and maintain a professional network both online and offline, how LinkedIn can help you connect with the right people, what to include in your profile, and how to network effectively to create opportunities now and in the future.
Please note: if you attended the workshop ‘Creating career opportunities before graduating’ during the NSM (pre-)Master's Welcome Day, please do not attend this one, as it is very similar.
