The Kick off meeting of our master programme of ESS consists of a bike excursion and dinner at pancake restaurant ‘t Hoogstraatje , Hoogstraat 3, centre Nijmegen.

01:30 pm - 05:30 pm Bike excursion Ooijpolder
Meeting Point: Kelfkensbos, Nijmegen Centre.
We will cycle in smaller groups from Kelfkensbos - at the centre of Nijmegen - to the Ooijpolder and back, ending at the pancake restaurant. Halfway there is a café stop at Roosje van Ooy.
05:00/05.30 pm - 08.00 pm dinner at Restaurant ’t Hoogstraatje
We will have three groups starting at different times at Museum Het Valkhof Kelfkesbos, Nijmegen.
- Valkhof and St Nicholas Chapel- History Nijmegen & Room for the River, until about 20 min- ; Stop Stadswaard – Ooijpolder- until 40 minutes; Stop Vlietberg- Roosje van Ooy – coffee/ tea and pastries –starts at 75 min until about 130 minutes; If there is time: cycle to Stop at Waalstrand --at 130-160 minutes.
- Back to main cycle/ walking path, go straight on passing Roosje van Ooy into the nature area, where the cycle path takes you to the Ooijbandijk again, go to the right, back to Nijmegen at -180 min
Some extra instructions:
- You are registered and divided over different groups, communicated by Brightspace before the start of the programme;
- There are vegetarian and vegan options and gluten-free and lactose free pancakes at the restaurant and at the Roosje van Ooy stop.
- Please wear appropriate boots and clothing for both rain and sun!
