Follow up meeting of the Science Education Day 2024

During the Faculty of Science Education Day on June 11th, teaching colleagues from our faculty will offer you all kinds of inspiration based on their practical examples. On Wednesday afternoon June 12th, Teaching Information Point Science and Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre are jointly organising a follow-up meeting to show you how you can get started with innovating your education. During this inspiring lunch meeting, you will be introduced to various funding options for educational innovation. There is no need to register in advance. 


12.00 pm: Walk-in with soup and sandwiches 

12.15 pm: Vice dean of education Laura van Niftrik opens exhibition with examples of educational innovation.
Explanation of funding opportunities by Marjan Smeulders, Lennert van Tilburg and Floor Binkhorst (the TLC lecturer ambassadors at the Faculty of Science) 

12.30 pm: On the basis of practical examples, you will discover funding opportunities for educational innovation and research. 

  • Koen van den Dries shows how he used a TLC voucher to conduct research into the design of research internships within the Molecular Life Sciences programme. 
  • Comenius laureate Jelle Hilbers explains how he is renewing the bachelor's course 'Introduction to R programming in Biology' with a fellowship from the NRO Comenius programme.

Funding for educational innovation 

Committee on Education and Innovation Faculty of Science

Staff and students of the Faculty of Science can submit an idea for an innovative educational project. A maximum of €7,500 per project per year is available. Read more 

Vouchers of the Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre 

Exploring, discovering and experimenting: that's what the Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre's TLC vouchers are for. A voucher offers you and your colleagues the chance to experiment with new initiatives in education, develop them and then learn from them. In addition, you can use a voucher to research an educational issue that has been on your mind for ages, for example. Depending on the impact and size of the project, €2,000 to a maximum of €10,000 per voucher can be requested. Read more 

NRO Comenius programme 

The Netherlands Initiative for Education Research (NRO) has a budget available through the Comenius programme. The programme is for lecturers who want to work on innovation and improvement of higher education in the Netherlands. The program consists of three different scholarships: the Teaching Fellow, Senior Fellow, and Leadership Fellow. Amounts range from €50,000 to €500,000. Read more
