Mindfulness training

In collaboration with Radboudumc Center of Expertise for Mindfulness, PV Radboud offers the training Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

    Content course  

    Mindfulness means: "to be present with attention in the here and now, without having a judgment about it." Mindfulness teaches you to adopt a more accepting attitude towards your thoughts, feelings and emotions. You learn to reflect more consciously on your experience of the here and now and not condemn it. There may then be room for making other choices. This allows you to deal with stress more effectively. 

    What will you learn? 

    • Pause, be present in the here and now;
    • Insight in (automatic) thinking and behaviour patterns;
    • A friendly attitude towards yourself and others.

    Working method

    The training consists of eight weekly meetings and a silent day. A course group consists of minimum 8 and maximum 16 people. In the meetings you practice with different meditation techniques such as the body scan, sitting meditation, walking meditation and yoga. There is an opportunity to exchange ideas about personal experiences with the exercises. An essential part of the training is homework.

    Under conditions, the participation fee at this activity can be (partly) paid by Radboud University employees from the selection model (art, culture and sports allowance).
