NeurotechEU-Decide: Joint Autumn School on Decision-Making

Monday 28 September 2026, 9 am - Friday 2 October 2026, 12 pm
How do we make decisions and why do we sometimes fail?

The University of Bonn and Radboud University are pleased to invite applications for the Joint Autumn School on Decision-Making, organised within the NeurotechEU alliance.
This one-week, in-person programme brings together students and researchers from across the NeurotechEU alliance to explore how decisions are shaped – from cognitive models and neural mechanisms to clinical conditions and ethical challenges.

What to expect?

Throughout the week, participants will engage with leading researchers and explore key questions such as:

  • How can decisions be modelled and formally described?
  • How do neural systems shape choice behaviour?
  • How is decision-making altered in clinical conditions?
  • What ethical challenges arise in decision-making?

Programme structure

The programme combines state-of-the-art research insights with interactive elements, providing space for discussion, exchange, and interdisciplinary learning

Speakers

Speakers will come from four different NeurotechEU partner universities – namely, Radboud University, University of Bonn, University of Lille and Karolinska Institutet, and two universities outside NeurotechEU – namely, TU Darmstadt and Columbia University

This autumn school is meant for Master's students, PhD students, and Postdoctoral Researchers.
Applicants should be affiliated with a NeurotechEU partner university (i.e., they need to be enrolled at or employed by a NeurotechEU university).
