On Monday 12 January 2026, an extensive breakfast buffet will await you at the Giga-Bite in the Huygens building. All Faculty of Science staff and students are welcome to join from 8:30 am.
Programme
The official programme will start around 9:00 am. Dean Sijbrand de Jong will open the gathering by reflecting on the past year and looking ahead to the plans for 2026.
This will be followed by the festive presentation of the faculty awards:
- Team Science Award: Vice Dean of Research Tom Heskes will present the award to a team or department that has performed exceptional work over the past year.
- Education Awards: Vice Dean of Education Laura van Niftrik will announce who has been elected as the Faculty’s best Junior and Senior Lecturer.
- Student Award: Assessor Widad Majdoubi will shine a spotlight on a student who has made an extraordinary contribution to the Faculty alongside their studies.
