On Thursday 21 September, from 12:30-13:00, Digital Humanities Librarian Levi Damsma (Information & Library Services) will give a short online demonstration of the transcription tool Transkribus. The presentation will last about 20 minutes, after which there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
Transkribus is an AI-based tool that allows you to automatically transcribe handwritten and historical documents from PDF’s and images. You can make use of publicly available text recognition models, or train your own model tailored to the type of handwriting you are working with. In addition, Transkribus is also a suitable platform for transcribing documents manually.
