Poverty in Nijmegen

Many people in Nijmegen live under the poverty line. Poverty leads to mental and physical health issues, and people feel left out of society. Going out or doing fun activities is often not possible. Social security often does not offer sufficient perspective and does not provide a road out of poverty. Inspired by national and international initiatives, the municipality of Nijmegen asks us to explore possibilities and make plans to provide people living in poverty with one thousand euros. In total, the municipality would need sixty million.
