Throughout April, the Catholic Documentation Centre at Radboud University is organising the pop-up exhibition ‘Glimpses of Colonialism’ at the Mariënburg public library in Nijmegen. This three-part exhibition explores the hidden layers of colonialism in missionary photographs taken in Suriname and Indonesia.
We would like to invite you to join us on Friday 24 April 2026 from 17.30h to 18.00h in the library’s entrance hall to reflect on this exhibition. Hans Krabbendam (Director KDC) and Henk Moeniralam (Nijmegen Caribbean and Asian Culture Working Group) will each provide an explanation of the exhibition and its background, and there will also be an opportunity to view the panels together afterwards.
Participation is, of course, completely free of charge, but we would appreciate it if you could let us know in advance that you are coming. Please send us a message using the button above.
