Rave & Reflect: Grief

Monday 9 February 2026, 9 am - 11 am
The first edition of a new project by Nimma Talks. In collaboration with Radboud University, ROC Nijmegen and Bibliotheek Gelderland Zuid

This event is in Dutch.

Grief. It affects us all, but we hardly ever talk about it. Not just the grief of losing someone, but also: the end of a relationship, the loss of security, failure, a broken dream, a failed study programme, a friendship that fades away, or losing a part of yourself.

During this special edition of Rave & Reflect, we will delve into all these forms of grief. In a way you won't find anywhere else.

We start with a Rave

We open the morning with a unique experience of RouwRave, a project by theatre maker Godelieve Meijers, in which rhythm, movement and loss come together. Not a heavy session, but a safe, physical way to release tension and make space in your body.

Then we talk openly

After the rave, there will be a conversation with students, creators and experts by experience.
We discuss grief as young people experience it: raw, honest, complicated, funny, confusing and sometimes unexpectedly relieved.
No therapy, no vague theories, just real stories and recognition.

Who is it for?

For all students at Radboud University, HAN University of Applied Sciences and ROC who:

  • are struggling with loss in any form
  • have lost something or someone
  • want to make space for what they are feeling
  • or simply want to experience how powerful it can be to move and talk together.

Why you don't want to miss this:

Because grief is not just about sadness, but about being human. Because there is no manual for grieving. And because this is the kind of morning you will still be thinking about weeks later.
