How do you make complex material understandable to a wider audience and how do you share your research with the world at large? If you've worked hard on your latest project, publication or other form of research for the past few months or even years, you want to have a certain impact. Maybe you want to share your findings with other researchers, maybe there's a social injustice you're keen to denounce, or maybe your findings are relevant to society in some other way. But if you've been focusing mainly on your research for a long time, you may no longer be able to see the wood for the trees.
What can you expect?
During this interactive workshop:
- We will practise making your research understandable to a wider audience. How do you avoid jargon and how do you ensure a clearer message by focusing on your audience and goal?
- We also explain how the university can support you in spreading your message through science communication. What support is available to you?
- What avenues are there within and outside your university to disseminate your research more widely?
- Plus: some tips for dealing with questions from journalists and the media?
