Gregory of Nyssa in his Life of Moses (or about the perfection in virtue) discusses the events of the Exodus cycle and on their basis presents his idea about the life of virtue, of which Moses is the best example. Various aspects are dealt with – rationality, irrationality, passions, virtues, freedom of choice, sensual perception, cognition, and love. As Gregory’s anthropology is shaped by the teaching about the renewal of the image of God in humans, we encounter many passages speaking about the nature of God, and especially, about the Incarnation of God when God became human – and knowable. Those with knowledge of and interest in Moses, the Exodus story, Gregory of Nyssa and how these relate to the human condition, will definitely not want to miss this presentation.
It will be conducted in English.
