Data-based decision making under uncertainty: A discussion of statistical testing

The goal of discussion leader dr. Eric Maris is to arrive at a (partial) consensus on what we should teach our students about principled ways of dealing with the inherent uncertainty in data-based decision making, which is the cornerstone of all empirical sciences.

About the speaker:
Eric Maris is or has been active in many different disciplines in behavioural and neuroscience, such as psychometrics, mathematical psychology, statistics, cognitive electrophysiology, active somatosensation, cycling rehabilitation, balance, and optimal feedback control. He has published methodological and statistical papers and has used almost all common methods in his own empirical research. He teaches and has taught numerous methods courses.
