During this training, you will learn more about how you experience stress and how to deal with negative thoughts.

This training is in English. Go to the Dutch version of this training.

    Who is this course for?

As a student you can feel pressure from all sides; passing your exams, reaching deadlines, being successful, keeping track of everything, making your parents proud, and so on. The list can be endless. So how do you deal with it all? Firstly by acknowledging that it is there. You have stress that you find hard to manage and it’s influencing your life too much. Secondly, by realizing that you are putting the pressure on yourself and that you can do something about it. This course could be part of that something.

    What will you learn?

This course won’t focus on reducing your stress. Instead, it provides you with tools to manage it better. Three major aspects are addressed:

    Managing your time and activities

You will learn to notice the small daily choices you make, evaluate them, decide if they benefit you or not. Are you doing the things that you want to do in the way that you want to do them? You will be taught how to make better choices.

    Managing your thoughts

You will learn to analyze your way of thinking and judge its merit. What thoughts are you thinking and are they true, accurate and constructive? You will see that your convictions have a big impact on how you experience things and that you can change your way of thinking for the better.

    Managing your feelings

Our feelings are a given and we can’t manage them directly. But we can influence how we react to them! You will learn to notice your feelings more on a daily basis and how they impact your thoughts and actions. You will also learn to distance yourself from negative feelings so that they don’t influence your actions as much.

    How do you apply?

To apply for the course you first have to plan for an intake with a study coach or student psychologist. This requires that you fill in an online intake form first. After you have done this you can make an appointment yourself in the available timeslots.
