Study gym

The Study Gym is a series of workshops that international students can follow to help them with their academic challenges ranging from scheduling and making priorities to learning strategies and resilience.

    General

    Who is this course for?

It can be difficult sometimes to adjust to a new learning environment in a new country. You can feel a bit lost and overwhelmed. You aren’t sure of what’s important or what is expected of you. You might work hard to try and compensate for these uncertainties but somehow you still feel things slipping out of your fingers. You can also have the tendency to avoid difficulties but either way, you want to get a better grip on things.

The Study Gym is a program of monthly workshops in which each workshop addresses a study issue (see program table). Attendance is voluntary and you don’t have to follow all the workshops in the series. You can decide which one(s) are relevant for you. However, many issues interact with each other and it is or experience that the more workshops you attend the better and understand you get of what your challenges really are and how you should deal with them.

    What will you learn?

Central to all the workshops is the focus on personal leadership as it is expected of you at this university. You will learn to take more control over your scheduling,  over your learning strategies and over yourself. You will become aware of your tendencies and convictions, how they impact the activities you undertake and their effectiveness or lack thereof. Specific strategies and methods will be presented but above all personal leadership will be positioned as a mindset with which to approach your study challenges.

    How do you register?

For every workshop you will be able to enrollment yourself via Osiris. The enrollment will be opened every time about three weeks before the specific workshop.
