Course content
Many of us teach during activities in which students are engaged with a variety of tasks, such as workgroups, tutorials, workshops, or (computer) practicals. During these moments you walk around and coach students in their learning process. While these interactions are short, they hold significant educational value.
Optimizing student learning during these moments can be challenging. This course helps you address this challenge by exploring key questions such as:
- How do I quickly check in with a student?
- What type of questions should I ask?
- When is my feedback most effective?
- How much and what kind of advice should I give?
- How do I adapt my coaching to the student’s current mindset?
Target group
This course is designed specifically for lecturers who teach workgroups, tutorials, (computer) practicals and want to improve their ability to optimize student learning. Ideally, you attend while engaged in these teaching activities.
