The Education Days: Growth space for students
Tuesday 1 April 2025, 9 am - Wednesday 2 April 2025, 6 pmTuesday 1 April
What if students were involved as equal partners in their education from the start? During a visit to Scotland, Jolanda and Femmie were introduced to Student as Partner (StaP), a method in which students actively participate in educational development. This offers possibilities and opportunities for educational development that suits the students and their future field of work.
What possibilities, opportunities and obstacles are seen in Nijmegen to further introduce this concept? In this session, you will use a SOAR analysis to look at the Strenghts, Opportunities, Aspirations and Results of this method. You can take the knowledge gained back to your own practice!
- Presenters: Jolanda Schieving, Femmie de Vegt and Dirk Schubert (Radboudumc) and Edwin de Jong (Radboud Universiteit)
- When: Tuesday 1 April 9:30-11:00.
Self-regulated learning is important, especially for students in higher education. Yet it appears that many students have not yet mastered these skills sufficiently. The way we test plays an important role in this, because testing directly influences how students learn and develop their self-regulation. In higher education, testing is often set up as a summative testing environment, with a focus on getting passing grades at the end of a module. But how can you develop self-regulation within such an environment? During this workshop, Jeroen shares key insights from his PhD research on self-regulation in a summative assessment environment. After his presentation, we will discuss the practical implications of his findings and how we can apply them in our own teaching.
Come have your say and discover how testing can contribute more to stimulating self-regulated learning!
- Presenter: Jeroen van der Linden (HAN University of Applied Sciences)

Discover giftedness in education!
In this workshop, we dive into giftedness. What signals can you recognise? And how do you look beyond cognitive excellence to the emotional and social sides? With interactive work forms and practical cases, you will discover how to spot and help gifted students.

- When: Tuesday 1 April 13:30-14:30.
How do we create a space where students meet, collaborate and co-create? During this workshop and creative session, you will jointly develop tangible plans to shape support structures around the CoLaboratory in the Erasmus Building.
The aim is to design concrete activities and related support for students in mixed groups. At the end of the session, we aim for 4-5 developed plans, of which we hope to realise one or two. You will play an active role in the development and possible implementation of these ideas, thus directly establishing connection and involvement. Join us and work together on a future where cooperation and innovation are key!
- Presenters: Edita Poljac and board members NSHV (Radboud Universiteit)

Stress and burnout are increasingly common among students, with performance pressure often cited as one of the causes. Despite much investment in student welfare, we still get signals that things are not going well. In this session, we will discuss questions such as: how can we better prepare students for challenges during their studies? What is the role of educational institutions in this? Do we understand performance pressure enough?
