The PhD thesis focuses on improving the implementation of clinical guidelines in community nursing through reflection. It shows that there is a clear gap between guidelines and the daily practice of healthcare professionals. This gap is caused by various barriers, such as lack of knowledge, time pressure, and the limited applicability of guidelines in practice. The study introduces a reflection method that helps registered (community) nurses and certified nursing assistants to critically evaluate their actions and align them more closely with guidelines. This reflection method was developed through design-based research and was co-created, tested, and evaluated in collaboration with healthcare professionals. Group reflection, supported by coaching, plays a central role in the learning process and in changing professional behavior.
