The gray plain of Linnaeussquare will be briefly transformed into a green oasis in May. That's where the pop-up forest settles. Among the native trees and shrubs, students, artists and academics will come together to listen and speak, see and feel, experience and imagine.
Humans are having an increasingly far-reaching effect on the earth and its inhabitants. For the first time, this has even resulted in an entire era being named after a single animal species: we are the namesakes of the Anthropocene. The current system is unsustainable, we are exhausting the earth and the effects of the climate and biodiversity crisis are disproportionately distributed. It has to be different! So it is time for a new relationship, a balance in which we are back in nature instead of above it. It's time for the symbiocene. This does not happen automatically. Come to the pop-up forest and experience how things can be done differently.
