Many of us know stories about (sexual) intimidation and abuse of powers on the academic working floor. Either from their own experience or from hear say. The aim of this event is to stimulate the conversation and raise awareness about these and related topics like social (un)safety, harassment, unwelcome behavior, and unequal power relations in the academia. We should address these problems to improve things.
The theatre play “The Learning Curve” by Het Acteursgenootschap” (The Dutch Actors Society) provides an excellent opportunity to discuss DEI and Social Safety themes in academia. Have a look at the trailer. The play contains situations in which academics cross borders, either implicitly or explicitly.
How can we foster a safe and positive working space for all? The performance will be followed by an exchange of experiences and insights.
