Titus Day

On Titus Day, Radboud University does not only pay attention to the historical legacy of Titus Brandsma. On 15 May, the university will also ask the important question: 'what do you do for another?' Through this question, Radboud University encourages students and staff to do something for others, preferably people outside their own bubble.

Book launch biography Titus Brandsma and the Titus Poem

Titus Brandsma is known for his heroic resistance to National Socialism. Much less known is Brandsma's active role as a public intellectual. It is precisely his intellectual engagement that is the focus of the latest biography of Titus Brandsma Denker voor Gods aangezicht, written by Prof Inigo Bocken. The book launch will take place in the chapel of the Berchmanianum.

14.30 - 14.55: Reception with coffee and tea in the Jozef van Hövell reception area (Berchmanianum 00.210)

15.00 - 15.10: Welcome by Prof. Johan Oosterman, director Radboud Heritage

15.10 - 15.45: Book discussion with the author

15.45 - 15.50: Titus poem 2024 by campus poet Thijs Kersten

15.50 - 16.10: Book presentation to Huub Welzen (prior provencial of the Carmelites) and Prof José Sanders (rector magnificus Radboud University)

16.10 - 16.15: Closure by Johan Oosterman

Afterwards, there will be drinks in reception room Jozef van Hövell (Berchmanianum 00.210). There, there will be an opportunity to buy a (signed) book.

This programme is made possible by Radboud Heritage and the Titus Brandsma Institute.

Students from the Radboud Green Office will be happy to tell you how you can contribute in your own way to restoring biodiversity and hand out flower seeds so you can take action right away!
