TLC Education Café - Educational innovation: more than improving and responding?

Thursday 26 June 2025, 4 pm - 5 pm

What do we actually mean by educational innovation? It often refers to the structural further development and improvement of education or the rapid response to current challenges. But can we look at it differently?

At this Education Café, we will discuss a third, often forgotten - or neglected - interpretation of educational innovation: courageously contributing to the transformation of the university. How do we ensure that education does not so much take us forward in a knowledge economy, but is above all of value in the eco-social challenges of our time? In addition, the special café also marks Jan Bransen's farewell as academic leader of the TLC.

Interviewer Annemarie van Stee talks to Elize de Mul, Saskia van Schaik and René ten Bos. Elize de Mul is a postdoc in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures. Saskia van Schaik is UD philosophy of behavioural sciences at the Faculty of Social Sciences. René ten Bos is professor of philosophy of management sciences at the Faculty of Management Sciences.

Are you curious about the deeper layers of educational innovation? Come along, have a chat and afterwards, toast with us to Jan's years of commitment to the Teaching and Learning Centre!

Registration is not necessary.
