TLC Innovation Lunch: A game to stimulate critical thinking

Tuesday 3 March 2026, 12:30 pm - 1 pm
Game on for Master's students in Tax Law

Professor of Tax Law Diana van Hout sought a way to help students understand that the law is not black and white. Together with the Educational Design & Technology (EDT) team, she developed a game in which students experience the complexity of case law through realistic cases and dilemmas. Diana will explain how the game came about and what the students thought of it during the TLC innovation lunch on Tuesday 3 March. Be inspired by this wonderful example of what a strong educational question, creativity and collaboration can achieve in practice.

You are welcome to join us at the table for a cup of soup!

We recently spoke with Mark Graner (EDT team member) who helped create the game. Read more about the process, initial reactions, and a look ahead from Mark's perspective.
