TLC Innovation Lunch: Educational didactics for medical students

Monday 1 June 2026, 12:30 pm - 1 pm
Didactic skills for medical students in the free choice housemanship

How can medical students be better prepared for their future role as lecturers? Within the elective course Education at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, medical students gain experience in teaching, but many still feel insufficiently prepared for the practical side of things afterwards.

To change this, Jolanda Schieving and Mike Keizer used a TLC voucher to develop the new Educational Didactics learning pathway: a learning pathway in which students acquire practical knowledge and skills in the areas of didactics, assessment and peer review. This learning pathway not only enhances the quality of education within the housemanship, but also encourages ongoing involvement in education.

During this innovation lunch, Jolanda and Guus Brand will share their experiences with developing and implementing the learning pathway. Guus is a clinical education doctor, Mike’s successor, and is responsible for a large part of the teaching in the curriculum. Sign up and come listen, share your ideas and get inspired while enjoying a bowl of soup.

Lunch with an inspiration shot

The Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre organises the TLC Innovation Lunch every first Monday of the month to share innovative projects and results more widely. Here, teachers, teaching support staff and other interested parties meet to be inspired by an innovative project of a Radboud colleague.

* Mandatory field

Every month, Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) organises an innovation lunch. With these lunches we bring lecturers, educational support staff and other interested people together for an inspirational presentation about an innovative project. All projects are runned by lecturers of Radboud University and they are happy to present their projects. Sign up and join the lunch.
