How can you make students more aware of their own (unconscious) biases in a diverse healthcare setting? During this innovation lunch, Esmeralda Blaney Davidson will share her innovation project, in which she uses immersive theatre as a teaching method within the Master’s programme in Medicine.
In this approach, students are immersed in realistic and sometimes uncomfortable situations, in which they become an active part of the story. In this way, they experience first-hand how differences in background influence communication and collaboration. Reflection and debriefing sessions help to translate these experiences into greater empathy, understanding and respect for diversity.
Come along and find out how this innovative approach helps to make healthcare more inclusive and mindful.
Lunch with an inspiration shot
The Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre organises the TLC Innovation Lunch every month to share innovative projects and results more widely. Here, lecturers, teaching support staff and other interested parties meet to be inspired by an innovative project of a Radboud colleague.
