Towards a Plant-Based Radboud

Friday 27 March 2026, 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
The importance of a plant-based university, and how we will get there

The campaign for a plant-based Radboud University is growing in momentum, from the student-researcher Food Interest Group (FIG) partnership, to campaigns from Scientist Rebellion/S4F to a push from numerous student groups such as GREEN+ and the Vegan Student Association. Many see a plant-based university as not only a concrete way for Radboud to walk-the-talk and reduce our carbon footprint, but also a symbolic act to demonstrate our commitments to the climate and more-than-human welfare.

In this lunch lecture, we will hear presentations from three Radboud professors leading the cause: Marc Davidson (Ethics of Sustainability and Climate Change), Ingrid Visseren (Environmental Governance and Politics) and Esther Papies (Behaviour Change in Health and Climate Change). Why is a plant-based Radboud necessary? What is the ethical case? How do we get there?

We hope to see many of you there for what is sure to be a thought-provoking event. Refreshments and (vegan!) snacks will be served. Co-organised by S4F Nijmegen, RCSC, Green+ and Vegan Student Association.
