Something for you?
- You have affinity with the Radboud Intro and would like to get involved (more)
- You are eager to learn and would like to further develop yourself professionally and informally
- You can lend a listening ear to someone who needs it
- You can present and support well or would like to learn how to do so.
What does it involve?
Just before the Radboud Intro, on 12 and 13 August 2026, the mentor training days take place. On these days, mentors are prepared for their important role during the Intro, with the aim of preparing the first-year students - under proper guidance - for their time at university. As a trainer of other mentors, you take care of these sessions.
As mentor trainer, you will first receive training in how to provide these sessions properly. This will take place during a training from Wednesday afternoon 5 to Friday 6 August. During this training, you will be fully prepared to lead the mentor training days properly, but you will also work on your general presentation and trainer skills. You will do this by going through the programme yourself and exploring the most ideal approach with other mentor trainers. You will also receive various informative training sessions on presentation and various topics such as alcohol use provided by IrisZorg.
Experience in guiding a group of mentors is not required; we have the training for that. Even if you yourself are a mentor or member of an introduction committee this academic year, it is no problem to become a mentor trainer as well. This is easy to combine. The most important thing is that you want to share experiences with others and help them increase their knowledge and awareness, so everyone is well prepared and full of enthusiasm for the Intro!
What do I get in return?
- An interesting training during which you will develop your presentation skills and social skills
- A compensation for your work (between €125 and €250)
- Free entrance to Radboud Intro Festival on Saturday 22 August.
Planning
The training days will take place in Nijmegen from Wednesday afternoon 5 August to Friday 7 August. The Wednesday evening will be used to give more information about the introduction and mentor training. On Thursday, you will receive several substantive training sessions to give you all the knowledge and skills you need for the mentor training day. Friday is all about practice. Friday's training will end with some drinks.
- Training days: Wednesday 5 August 14:00 to 17:00; Thursday 6 and Friday 7 August 9:30 to 17:30
- Training days for mentors: Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 August 09:30 - 16:30
- Evaluation: to be determined
It is possible to provide two or three mentor training days. Still unsure about your availability? Then just sign up and we will discuss your availability during the intake interviews.
Intake interviews
The first intake interviews will take place in May and June. There, you will meet the trainers and can ask all your questions.
