Virtual tour of the PASSIM web application

Thursday 27 June 2024, 3 pm - 4:30 pm

After five years, the ERC-funded project Patristic Sermons in the Middle Ages. The dissemination, manipulation and interpretation of late-antique sermons in the medieval Latin West (PASSIM) is coming to a close. An important goal of the project was to provide flexible access to data on the medieval manuscript transmission of Latin patristic preaching. To this end, we created an Open Access database of descriptions of manuscripts that contain sermon collections, connected to a set of authority files for the texts in question. The database is made accessible through a custom interface, allowing for sophisticated querying and visualisation of the data. As a closing event for the project, we warmly invite you to a virtual tour of the PASSIM web application. During this tour, we will present the features of the dataset and demonstrate the functionalities of the search interface. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions. The event will take place online, on Thursday 27 June, 15.00-16.30 (CET)

If you are in or close to Nijmegen, you are very welcome to join us for drinks after the presentation (17.00 CET).
