100th Dies Natalis

The Dies Natalis is a gathering for students, staff and relations in honor of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the university. The programme of this Dies Natalis is inspired by the theme 'of significance'.

About the Dies Natalis

On Tuesday 17 October 2023, Radboud University will celebrate its 100th Dies Natalis with an academic ceremony and a Eucharist.

The celebration will take place from 1.30pm to approximately 4.45pm in Concertgebouw De Vereeniging in Nijmegen, the location where exactly 100 years earlier the festivities surrounding the founding of our university took place. Prior to the academic session, at 10.00am to 11.30am, a Eucharist will be celebrated in the Molenstraatkerk in Nijmegen, just as 100 years earlier.

Following the academic session, at about 5pm, a reception will take place in De Vereeniging.

On the Programme

During the Dies Natalis there will be speeches by, among others, Rector Magnificus Han van Krieken, six honorary doctorates will be awarded, there will be performances by students and the Rector Magnificus will hand over the rectorship to his successor. Further details of the exact program will be announced soon.

Looking back on the 2022 Dies Natalis

The 99th Dies Natalis was held in Radboud University’s Auditorium on Thursday 20 October from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm. The programme focused on the theme of ‘opportunities’.
