Opening Academic Year 2025 - 2026: Hope
The Opening of the Academic Year is a gathering for all staff and students aimed at providing inspiration for the start of the new academic year. This year's programme is inspired by the theme of 'hope'.
The programme
During the Opening of the Academic Year, staff and students of Radboud University look ahead to the new year. Besides various contributions inspired by the theme of 'hope', the Study Award and the Team Science Award will be awarded.
De Gang Van Zaken
Especially for the Opening Academic Year, indie funk band De Gang Van Zaken is joining forces with a string quintet from the Nijmegen student orchestra.
De Gang Van Zaken, founded in 2022 by four Radboud students, is an energetic and innovative band known for their unique cocktail of sunny tunes and melancholic interludes. The band brings a unique mix of indie funk with a touch of rock and blues. Their style, influenced by bands such as CAKE, The Vices, The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys, is full of groovy rhythms, melodic guitars and a distinctive soulful voice. With their versatile sound and passionate performances, De Gang Van Zaken is making its mark on the music scene and promises to make even more noise in the future.
Practical information
The Opening Academic Year 2024 will take place on Monday 1 September in concert hall De Vereeniging. The ceremony will start at 14.00 and last until approximately 15.30. There will be no live stream this year. You have received an e-mail with a personal invitation.
