For students
University Student Council
Every year, a select group of RU students forms the University Student Council. They are responsible for overseeing and contributing to the policies of our university. The USC represents the interests of students and has consent and advisory rights.
Themes: education quality, budget, student welfare, social safety, diversity and inclusion, and sustainability
Consults with: Works Council and Executive Board
Duration: 1 year
Faculty Student Council
Each faculty has its own Faculty Student Council. As a council member, you consult and advise on a wide range of issues that affect your faculty. You also participate in discussions about educational content and other faculty-wide themes.
Themes: education policy, direction, facilities and amenities, internationalisation, ICT
Consults with: Works Council and Faculty Board
Duration: 1 year
Programme Committee
The Programme Committee issues advice on important educational issues for a specific programme. The committee therefore helps to safeguard the quality of education by making recommendations to improve the quality of teaching and education at the university.
Themes: evaluating courses and the Examination and Education Regulations (EER), innovation
Consults with: Faculty Board
Duration: 1 year
For employees
Works Council
The Works Council represents the interests of university staff. They determine how to spend the 500-million-euro budget and discuss policies and all issues concerning staff members at the university. The Works Council has advisory and consent rights.

Consults with: University Student Council, Executive Board, policymakers
Duration: 2 years
Representative Council
As a member of the Representative Council, you consult and advise on a wide range of issues that affect your faculty. The Representative Council consists of staff members employed at the relevant department. You represent the interests of your colleagues.
Themes: education policy, direction, facilities and amenities, internationalisation, ICT
Consults with: Faculty Student Council, Works Council and Faculty Board
