Tip 1: Social media. Do you know what you are sharing?
Log out of your social media account and then look yourself up. This information is visible to everyone. Do you reveal more than you want? Adjust your privacy settings and choose who you share your socials with.
Tip 2: Taking a break? Avoid prying eyes
Taking a break? Ensure your screen is locked to protect your data. A fast way to do this is by pressing Windows + L. If you're in a shared workspace, secure your belongings behind a lock.
Tip 3: Use a good password
A good password protects you against a data breach. Use a different password for each online service. Set a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) where possible and never share your password.
Tip 4: Check if you have a leaked password
It's important to keep an eye on your leaked passwords. You can do that at Have I Been Pwned, where you can set it to automatically send you an email if your details appear in a data leak.
Tip 5: Approach the Local Privacy Coordinators (LPC)
The privacy organisation is getting bigger and bigger! We have appointed a contact person for questions about the AVG for each department within the faculty.

- BSI: Rob Gommans (rob.gommans [at] ru.nl (rob[dot]gommans[at]ru[dot]nl))
- DCC : Miriam Kos (miriam.kos [at] donders.ru.nl (miriam[dot]kos[at]donders[dot]ru[dot]nl))
- RSCR: Anke Tonnaer (anke.tonnaer [at] ru.nl (anke[dot]tonnaer[at]ru[dot]nl))

If necessary, they can refer you to the privacy officers: Aniek Wols and Enna Lujinović.
