First of all, our employee Bianca van Oijen, head HR Faculty of Arts, was awarded the University medal in Bronze as a token of appreciation not only for her years of HR work, but especially for the way she works together with her team.
A successful opening of the academic year for the Faculty of Arts
On Monday, 4 September, the academic year was officially opened. It was a beautiful ceremony, which put our faculty firmly in the spotlight.
In addition, our PhD candidate Airin Farahmand received one of the University Study Awards for her Master's thesis The Representation of the Body in Speculative Design (supervisor Elisa Fiore, co-assessor László Munteán) as part of the Research Master Art and Visual Culture.
Moreover, the Radboud Team Science Award was presented to the RICH research project Patristic Sermons in the Middle Ages. This project was and is being worked on by FoA staff members Shari Boodts, Gleb Schmidt, Iris Denis, Thijs Hermsen, Erwin Komen, Riccardo Macchioro and Menna Rempt.
Finally, the Literaire Boyband (three of whom are alumni of the Faculty of Arts) and pianist Suzanne Voets (alumna Dutch Language and Culture) performed to complete the opening.
Overall, it was a very successful opening of the academic year for our faculty. We warmly congratulate all the laureates with these well-deserved expressions of appreciation!
