Accreditation for two new programmes

We are proud to announce that our faculty will be offering interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary education in two new programmes: the Master's programme in Science for Sustainability and the Bachelor's programme in Human Neurosciences. The Master's programme will commence in September 2025, and the Bachelor's programme the following year. Information sessions and recruitment for both programmes will begin this year.

Science for Sustainability

In this Master's programme, we train so-called sustainability navigators: individuals who wish to make a meaningful contribution to sustainability challenges such as biodiversity loss, climate change, or resource scarcity. Students acquire the scientific knowledge necessary to distinguish between effective and ineffective sustainability interventions, and learn how to implement these in organisations and society, developing the essential skills to do so effectively.

The Master's programme in Science for Sustainability is a collaboration with Nijmegen School of Management and will fall under our new Institute for Inter- and Transdisciplinary Education. The programme coordinator is desire.dekker [at] ru.nl (Desiré Dekker).

Human Neurosciences

The new Bachelor's programme in Human Neurosciences has also recently been accredited. This programme will focus on the functioning of our brains, our thinking and behaviour, and the technologies that can influence these processes. The mission of the programme is to educate students with interdisciplinary, innovative approaches to brain research and to translate findings into applications in technology, health, and society.

The Bachelor’s programme in Human Neurosciences will start in September 2026 and will be jointly offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSW) and the Faculty of Science (FNWI). The programme coordinators are Pieter Medendorp and Richard van Wezel
