The recommendations were drafted in response to a petition offered earlier this year by employees to Radboud Services Director Gerben Smit. This petition was initiated by the cleaners because they were not satisfied with the working conditions since the organisational change in the cleaning protocol at the FNWI building. The ombudsperson spoke to the employees and came up with some ten potential solutions.
These include improving communication, encouraging connection between cleaners, for example through team coaching, clear rules and working agreements that after consultation and approval apply to everyone, clarity about the organisational structure, devoting more attention to employees' personal circumstances and structural evaluation moments.
