Additional investigation following report by Research Integrity Committee

In accordance with the usual procedure, a report by Radboud University's Research Integrity Committee was published in anonymised form on the Association of the Universities of the Netherlands (UNL) website today.

This concerns a complaint, which has been upheld, regarding data fabrication in a published article by a former member of staff at the University. The Executive Board informed the defendant, complainants, co-authors and the editors of the relevant journal in confidence about the outcome of the investigation.

Because of the seriousness of the breach of research integrity, the Executive Board decided to commission a wider investigation into articles the defendant was involved in while working for Radboud University.

As the Committee's report is currently limited to findings regarding one article, the Executive Board is following the regular procedure of anonymised publication for the time being. The Executive Board discussed the matter with the Committee.

Because the anonymised report on the Association of the Universities of the Netherlands (UNL) website is in Dutch, a machine translated version in English has been published.
