Additional measures due to persistent heat

Due to the persistent heat, the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) has issued a code orange warning from 11:00 a.m. on 1 July. Radboud University is therefore taking additional measures to keep the indoor climate as pleasant and safe as possible for everyone on campus.

Temperatures will be higher than usual, so it is important to keep windows and doors closed as much as possible. We are closely monitoring the situation and any escalation to code red. If necessary, we will take additional measures.

What extra measures are we taking?

  • We are closely monitoring our buildings and installations. In collaboration with our suppliers, additional monitoring of the cooling systems is being carried out.
  • Where technically possible, the air supply temperature is being lowered to provide cooling.
  • Sun blinds are being lowered automatically where possible and locked to limit heating.
