She is an experienced administrator with a strong network who is a great match for our University thanks to her powerful and connecting style focused on collaboration.” In addition to Van Huffelen, the Executive Board will consist of Vice President Agnes Muskens and Rector Magnificus José Sanders.
Van Huffelen: “Radboud University is a wonderful institution with leading researchers and highly ranked education. Within the University, academic and support staff and students work closely together to identify the complex challenges facing us today and contribute to finding solutions to them. From its inception, Radboud University has been committed to encouraging young people to grow and develop, and contribute to society. In the coming years, we have the crucial task of strengthening the University's impact based on those values. It is a great honour for me to devote myself to this task as President, together with my colleagues on the Executive Board. I look forward to working with everyone within the University and with all external stakeholders.”
Van Huffelen was previously State Secretary for Kingdom Relations and Digitalisation and State Secretary for Finance, Surcharges and Customs. Prior to this, she was, among other things, General Director of the Amsterdam Public Transport Company (GVB N.V.), Alderman for Sustainability, Inner City and Outdoor Space at the municipality of Rotterdam, and she held a number of positions at Essent. Van Huffelen was a member of the Senate (D66) and active as a supervisor in the healthcare and culture sectors, among others. She studied Public Administration at the universities of Leiden, Rotterdam, and Aarhus.
Incumbent President of the Board Daniël Wigboldus will remain in position until the end of 2024. In the first month of 2025, the Executive Board will temporarily consist of two board members: José Sanders and Agnes Muskens.
