Arthur van den Hurk appointed expert member of the Unidroit Working Group on Insurer Insolvency

Unidroit, the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law, is based in Rome. The chairperson of the working group is Professor Stefania Bariatti, a member of Unidroit’s Governing Council. Having recently finalised its Legislative Guide on Bank Liquidation, Unidroit is continuing its work in this area by developing guidance for legislators and policymakers on effective frameworks for the liquidation of insurers.  In addition to experts, various international and transnational organisations, insurance supervisors, resolution authorities and guarantee schemes will also participate in the working group as observers. The working group’s first meeting will take place in Rome at the end of November.
