Changes to the Supervisory Board

Radboud University announces some changes to its Supervisory Board. Professor Vanessa Evers, who is a professor at the University of Twente, has joined the Supervisory Board as the successor of Paul Morshuis. Chair Merel van Vroonhoven has announced that she will step down for personal reasons.

Vanessa Evers is best known for her positions as Professor of Human Media Interaction and Science Director of the DesignLab at the University of Twente. She is also Visiting Professor of Social AI and inaugural Director of the NTU Institute of Science and Technology for Humanity at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Vanessa Evers has been appointed as a member of Radboud University’s Supervisory Board following her nomination by the participational bodies. As a member of the Supervisory Board, she will be responsible for the Innovation, Valorisation and Digitalisation portfolio and she will also serve on the Education and Research Committee. This committee advises the Supervisory Board on the quality assurance of scientific research and education. Her term of appointment runs until 14 February 2027.

Chair Merel van Vroonhoven has announced that she will step down. “After much deliberation, I made the difficult decision to resign my membership of Radboud University’s Supervisory Board. For the past two years, I have served as Chair of the Supervisory Board with great pleasure and dedication. However, I have also found that having too many work responsibilities has compromised the balance between my work life and personal life and I have consequently had to make some difficult choices,” said Van Vroonhoven as she explained her decision. “I realise that my decision was sudden and I am extremely grateful to my colleagues on the Supervisory Board and also to the members of the Executive Board for the understanding that they have shown. I would like to wish this magnificent university a wonderful 100th anniversary.”

The Supervisory Board will begin the process for a new board member and has appointed Mario van Vliet as interim chair. The current members of the Supervisory Board are Mario van Vliet, Valerie Frissen, Henk Naves and Vanessa Evers.
