Citizen Science: An Introduction and Black Hole Finder

In this session, you will receive an introduction to citizen science. What is it? How can you use it, and what should you pay attention to? You will also hear from astronomers Peter Jonker and Steven Bloemen about their experiences with the citizen science project, "Black Hole Finder."

The Black Hole Finder app is a citizen science platform that uses crowdsourcing to identify black holes in massive datasets. Using the collective knowledge of volunteers worldwide, the app swiftly locates black holes and provides researchers with new insights into cosmic events.

The session takes place on Thursday 22 January from 12:15pm to 1pm. You can register here.
