Connected for Impact: how are you engaged with the campus and the city?

Radboud University contributes to a healthy, free world with equal opportunities for all. We can only achieve this together: when students, staff and partners feel connected to one another, to society and to the world around us. Do you already have ideas on how you can contribute to this with your work? During the week of 18–22 May, we invite you to share your thoughts. A range of activities will be organised to exchange ideas with others on how we can strengthen the sense of connection within the university and make a greater impact together. Will you join us?

Next week, you can take part in accessible activities on campus. The activities encourage interaction on campus and are designed to facilitate an exchange of ideas about our sense of community on campus and with the city. Contribute to the artwork in which we engage in dialogue with the campus, leave your wish on the wishing tree, or visit one of the other activities throughout the week.

Wish-tree: How would you like to contribute to social issues from your role? (all week)

Our broad-based university possesses a wide diversity of perspectives and knowledge. Drawing on that strength, we can contribute to find solutions to major, complex social issues. What topics interest you? What creativity, talent and knowledge can you bring to the table? And what scope do you need within the education system to do so? Leave your thoughts and wishes in the wish-tree on Erasmus square and Linnaeus square!

If the campus could whisper… (all week)

The campus is where we learn, work and meet. A space where we grow as human, academics and researchers. What does the sense of community on campus mean to you? What supports you in your role? What would you like to share with the campus, if you could talk to it? Share your thoughts on Erasmus square!

Radboud Reflects lunch lecture ‘The Radboud campus of the future’ (21 May)

On 21 May, Radboud Reflects is organising a lunch lecture. How will the campus change in the coming years? With Radboud University’s new strategy, the campus will play a key role: a place for meeting and collaboration, both physically and digitally. What will that look like in practice? What impact will this have on teaching, research and the way we work and study at Radboud University? And what will these changes require of staff and students? Come and listen to Director of Campus and Facilities Suzanne Vahl and Head of Campus Development Koen Fleuren, and ask your own questions.

Dies Natalis Celebration

On 21 May, we will be celebrating the university’s Dies Natalis. As is tradition, the celebration will begin in the Student Church (12.00–13.00). In the afternoon, the academic session will take place in the Aula from 15.00, followed by a reception.

During the session, ecologist Prof. Hans de Kroon will give the Dies Natalis lecture, entitled ‘The ownership of a connected university’. In line with the Connected for Impact strategy, the annual theme of ‘connecting’ takes centre stage: exploring the interconnection between science, the region and a liveable future, and the role everyone can play in this.
