During the first phase, Friday 25 and Saturday 26 October, the fire lift will be adjusted and pumps of the fire-extinguishing system replaced. During the works, the electricity will be switched off and therefore maintenance on a major power cable between Erasmusgebouw and TvA1 will be carried out at the same time. As there will then be no power in both the Erasmus Building and TvA1, both buildings will be closed to staff, students and visitors.
Construction works Erasmus building
There will be work in the Erasmus Building from the end of October to mid-January. To ensure that the building continues to meet the requirements of fire safety laws and regulations, adjustments are necessary. In the period from November to January, the entrance doors on all floors of the Erasmus building will be replaced. The floor in question will then be closed to all users for three days.
Closure of floors
During the second phase of works, from Friday 15 November to Friday 16 January 2025, the existing fire-resistant access facades in the Erasmus Building will be replaced on each floor. During the replacement of the facades, the relevant floor will be closed to all users for three days. On day four, completion of the new facades will take place but the floor will then be accessible to users again.
Toilets out of use
When the floor is closed, the (accessible) toilets there are also out of use. Not every floor has a toilet accessible to everyone. These can be found in the Erasmus building on the ground floor and on floors 1, 2, 7, 11, 15 and 18.
The schedule below shows where and when the new access doors will be installed and on which days the floor in question will be closed.
