This year’s Diversity Day was organised by Radboud University's central DEI office. A variety of activities were held to engage students and staff in reflecting on DEI themes. These included, but were not limited to, a lecture by Eva Eikhout on her personal experiences with DEI, as well as workshops on inclusive teaching, intersectionality, and legal rights for trans and non-binary individuals.
The Faculty of Science's Gender and Diversity Committee (GenDI) hosted a well-attended quiz during the faculty lunch. While enjoying a meal, students and staff tested their knowledge on topics and initiatives that GenDI has been focusing on. These included hiring and retaining diverse staff, the student harassment survey, living with disabilities and chronic illnesses, and biases against LGBTQ+ individuals in STEM. Ultimately, a student won the quiz and received a VVV gift voucher as a prize.
Special thanks go to the hosts of the Diversity Day Quiz and GenDI members: Anne-Sophie Hafner and Noël Schneider.
